Doi Suthep is the name of a temple located on the top of the mountain. Linking you to the temple are the seven headed Dragon stairs with 306 steps. At the temple you will see panoramic view over the valley of Chiangmai. There is a stupa of the White Elephant which carried a relic bone of the lord Buddha from India and died at the spot where the stupa is now located for more than one thousand years. There are magnificent color paintings describing the history of the lord Buddha on the wall surrounding the temple.

Continue the way by off – road truck to visit a hill tribe village called the MEO or HMONG. See the hill tribe museum and fruit plantations. There are various kinds of hill tribe products and handicrafts to buy as souvenirs. Return to Chiangmai in the afternoon. .
